Veeam technology is the engine of our CloudCover suite and our relationship with Veeam is the fuel to providing our partners and their customers with state-of-the-art data protection solutions.
After the major announcement of virtualDCS winning a Veeam Innovation Award (the first UK partner to ever achieve this!), I thought it was a good time to reflect on what our Veeam accreditations mean to us, and the tangible benefits our partners and customers receive from them.
The Veeam Platinum VCSP status
Veeam is #1 worldwide in Data Recovery and Protection, and to work with its partners effectively it categorises them into tiers. virtualDCS is proud to be a Platinum Partner Ready Veeam Cloud Service Provider (VCSP), which is an elite tier, and the highest available within Veeam’s partner program.
A Veeam Cloud and Service Provider that reaches a Platinum level must excel in the ‘three Cs’, which are:
- Certifications (staff understanding of products) – Veeam VCSPs must have proven expertise in Veeam products and services, with the right certifications to back it up. Our team includes Veeam Sales professionals, Veeam technical sales professionals, Veeam-certified Engineers, and Veeam-certified Architects.
- Competencies– Platinum Reseller-ready VCSPs require expertise, known as badges, across specific areas of the Veeam portfolio.
- Commercials (or volume of business transacted)
The above means that Veeam Platinum VCSPs have the knowledge to assist with your disaster recovery planning and to provide you with the best practices, technologies, and advice on how to keep your data safe in the event of a disaster.
All Veeam platinum partners are not equal
Veeam Platinum partners should offer a wide range of solutions, from backup and recovery to disaster recovery, designed to meet the needs of businesses of all shapes, locations, and sizes.
When you work with a Veeam Platinum VCSP, you can be confident that you are working with a provider who truly understands Veeam and can help you get the most out of your investment. Yet, even within the elite tier of Platinum, not all Platinum VCSPs are equal.
Some organisations may offer alternative products that dilute their expertise or even have customer-facing staff that have no experience with Veeam. They may even be very experienced in one area of Veeam and have no dedicated skills in others.

In 2021, Veeam announced ‘reseller ready’ VCSP competencies, which are designed to act as a seal of approval and recognise partners offering best-in-class Veeam-powered services. Leading the way once more, virtualDCS was the first UK-based Veeam Cloud Service provider to achieve all competencies available.
To be awarded these badges, virtualDCS had to complete a full commercial and technical audit led by Veeam itself, assessing not only the technical and platform capabilities across the CloudCover suite but also the support levels offered to our partner base.
virtualDCS passed the audits with flying colours and holds ‘Veeam reseller ready’ status across its full portfolio of services, spanning Backup as a Service (BaaS or Veeam Cloud Connect Backup), Veeam Backup for Office 365 (CloudCover 365), Disaster Recovery as a Service (DRaaS or Veeam Cloud Connect Backup) and CloudCover Local Backup.
