The estimates on this page are built on our standard rates and are intended as a guide to what your final quote will look like. Pick a service, enter your workloads, servers, workstations or data volumes, and you'll see Veeam backup pricing for your environment in under a minute. The tools cover Microsoft 365 backup, off-site cloud backup, disaster recovery and on-site protection, so whichever part of your estate you're costing, there's a calculator for it.
Put in your requirements and the tools give you instant Veeam backup and replication pricing based on our standard rates, and when you're ready, our team will confirm a fixed quote, including any discounts that apply. If you are interested in a full managed cloud backup or disaster recovery service, we can also offer that with the required Veeam licensing bundled in.

How Veeam pricing works
The licensing model, in plain English
DCS sells Veeam rental licensing, which uses a points system to protect data per workload and is available to members of the Veeam Cloud Service Provider (VCSP) partner program. Older estates may still be licensed per socket, based on the physical CPUs in the host. If you're still on per-socket, count your workloads before you renew, because for many organisations the per workload system is simpler to forecast and easier to true up as you grow.
What actually drives the cost
The number of workloads you protect and retention times: keeping backups for twelve months needs more storage than keeping them for thirty days, the amount of data you need to protect and where the copies live will all impact price. On-site backup gives you the fastest restores, off-site copies protect you when the primary site is compromised - many organisations run both. Add-ons such as immutability and insider protection impact the price too. The calculators let you flex all of these, so you can see the trade-offs before you commit to anything.
Buying licences directly vs a managed service
You can buy Veeam licences outright and run everything yourself. However, if you need a managed service with support, our CloudCover services wrap all of that, including the licence, into one monthly price. Which route is better value depends on your strategic priorities and the time and infrastructure you already have. If you're weighing it up, that's exactly the conversation our team is here for.
FAQs
Read some of the frequently asked questions about Veeam licensing - how it works, what it's needed for and how you can purchase and consume them.
-
How much does Veeam cost?
Veeam is licensed by workload, so the cost depends on how many machines you protect, whether they are virtual, physical or cloud, and how you buy it. Rather than guess, use the calculators on this page for an instant estimate based on your own numbers, then book a call and we will confirm a fixed price.
-
How is Veeam licensed, and what is a Veeam Universal Licence (VUL)?
Veeam has moved most customers to the Veeam Universal Licence (VUL): a per-workload, portable licence where one instance covers a VM, a physical server or a cloud workload, and can be moved between them.
Older environments may still be on the per-socket model. The number of instances you need is the main driver of cost, which is what the calculators work out.
-
How much does Veeam Backup & Replication cost?
There is no flat price, it scales with the number of workloads and the edition you need. Use the calculator above for a Veeam Backup & Replication estimate against your own environment. If you would rather have it fully managed, our CloudCover services wrap the licensing, the infrastructure and the support into one predictable monthly cost.
-
What affects the cost of Veeam backup?
Three things, mostly: how many workloads you protect (the big one), how long you keep your backups (retention), and where the copies live, on-site, off-site, or both. Add-ons like immutability and insider-threat protection can factor in too. The calculators let you flex these so you can see the trade-offs.
-
Is there a free Veeam pricing calculator?
Yes. The tools on this page are free to use and give an instant estimate, with no sign-up required. They cover Microsoft 365 backup, off-site backup, disaster recovery and on-site backup. For a firm quote with any available discounts, book a call.
-
How much does Veeam cost for a small business or an enterprise?
The same per-workload model applies at both ends: a small business with a handful of servers pays for a handful of instances; an enterprise pays for many. Use the calculator with your own workload count for a realistic figure at your size, then we will confirm pricing and any volume discounts.
-
Is it cheaper to buy Veeam directly or through a managed provider like DCS?
If you buy the licences directly, rather than using a service with licences wrapped in, it can reduce the cost on paper, but you then need to cover the backup/DR infrastructure, the storage, the monitoring and the recovery.
With a managed provider you get the licence, UK-based storage, and the people who run and recover it, in one predictable monthly cost. Which is better value depends on whether you have the in-house time and kit, and that is a genuinely useful conversation to have.
-
How much does cloud or off-site Veeam backup cost?
Off-site cloud backup is priced on the amount of data you protect and amount of space required which can hold your configured retention period.
With a managed provider you get the licence, UK-based storage, and the people who run and recover it, in one predictable monthly cost. Which is better value depends on whether you have the in-house time and kit, and that is a genuinely useful conversation to have.
