Industry-leading Cloud Services for the Channel

CloudCover CDP

Enterprise organisations are reliant on information to function and losing access to data even for a short period of time could be detrimental.

Help unleash Continuous Data Protection with CloudCover CDP

Backup and Replication has been an essential part of a well thought out IT infrastructure for a long time, but technologies, such as tape (and in some cases even cloud backup) are struggling to meet the complex business and digital transformation requirements of today.

Achieving true Business Continuity for large-scale organisations is an on-going battle, simply because of the speed in which data changes.

Financial Businesses, Retailers and Medical Practices are prime examples of this, where losing even a minutes worth of data could have catastrophic consequences long term. In these scenarios, the risk of data loss even with a Cloud Backup solution in place still remains high and could result in hours of data loss.

This is why Enterprise organisations are exploring Continuous Data Protection and you can help your customers ensure data availability through CloudCover CDP.

Continuous Data Protection vs Backup

What is Continuous Data Protection?

To provide an example, let’s say your customer backs up data daily. If they were to take an automated Backup at 12:30 and a data incident occurred at 17:31, the IT team would need to revert to the 12:30 restoration point.

This at a minimum leads to 5 hours of data loss, plus the recovery time to transfer the data back on-premise. In contrast, CloudCover CDP and Continuous Data Protection consistently records changes in the environment as they occur using ‘always on replication’  technology.

This means that in the event of an incident, the IT department can fail over to these replica VMs on our platform, where the business can keep trading as normal, while the primary Infrastructure is restored to normal operations. As data is replicated in real time, this results in sub-minute data loss.

You or your customer can control the fail over and information can be replicated across a range of Public Clouds, in addition to our own UK based, ISO 27001 complaint data centres.
