Modern threat protection
Cyber threats are no longer a question of if, but when.
Ransomware, malicious insiders, and accidental deletion can all compromise critical systems, putting revenue, reputation, and operations at risk.
CloudCover Vault uses encrypted, immutable off-site cloud backups to protect critical data. Isolating backups from production environments prevents threats from spreading and ensures data remains untouched, even if primary systems are compromised.
CloudCover removes the need to manage backup infrastructure internally, with DCS's expert team on hand to support recovery if incidents occur, reducing downtime, risk, and operational strain.
Access complete, clean copies of critical data
Robust, off-site protection in the cloud
A foundation for secure, resilient data protection. Reduce exposure to business risk, simplify recovery, and support business continuity.
Ransomware
defence
Ransomware attacks are on the rise and a physical, immutable off-site backup gap brings peace of mind, protection and the ability to recover if an attack occurs.
Reduce
backup costs
Reduce the cost and complexity of running your own in-house backup platform, and leverage highly secure, enterprise-grade infrastructure in Tier 3 data centres in the UK.
Data
sovereignty
CloudCover Vault secures data in UK-based, ISO 27001-accredited, Tier 3 data centre infrastructure, so you can be confident in your data residency and sovereignty.
Insider threat
protection
Attacks don't just come outside the business; malicious and accidental deletion can be equally damaging. With backups retained for seven days (or more), you can always recover.

FAQs
Below are some of the most common questions we’re asked by organisations exploring how DCS can help strengthen their data protection and recovery strategy.
-
Where is my backup data stored?
All CloudCover Vault backups are stored exclusively within DCS’s platforms in UK-based, Tier 3 data centres.
These facilities are ISO 27001-certified and are designed to meet the strictest physical and data security standards.
Your data never leaves the UK, remains encrypted in-flight and at rest, and is protected by multiple layers of physical security.
With full geographic redundancy and immutable storage options, your backups stay both compliant and immediately recoverable.
-
What is Veeam Cloud Connect?
Veeam Cloud Connect is the software CloudCover Vault uses to provide a secure, direct path to off-site backup without requiring additional hardware or infrastructure.
Through the Veeam Backup and Replication console, data is securely transmitted to DCS’s ISO 27001-certified UK data centres, protected by immutability to guard against ransomware and insider threats. -
How does Veeam Cloud Connect Backup work?
Veeam Cloud Connect Backup moves your physical and virtual backups securely off-site, keeping data protected even if your primary environment is compromised.
If users already have an existing Veeam Backup console, they can simply connect to DCS’s Cloud Connect repository to enable automated, encrypted transfers to our UK-based cloud. If an incident occurs on-premises, your data remains safe, immutable, and ready to restore.

Cloud backup solutions
Cloud backup solutions use cloud infrastructure and storage devices to securely store critical data 'off-site' to create physical separation from the original source of the data. This could come from physical servers and workstations, or from other cloud infrastructure.
This physical separation and immutability are essential to ensure that backups are not compromised by corruption of the data source or by external attacks, which can attempt to damage or delete backups or encrypt them via ransomware.
-
Cloud backup storage
Cloud backup storage enables individual users and businesses to upload data to secure storage via the internet.
A huge variety of services exist for both personal and commercial use, from services designed for individuals to backup personal files and photographs (like iCloud from Apple), moving through to more enterprise-grade solutions for businesses to more frequently back up and secure large quantities of data.
-
Cloud backup cost
Cloud backup costs vary widely depending on the type of solution. A solution that is used to back up personal files and photos will have a different structure from a business-focused, commercial solution. The amount of data backed up, or storage space available (on a per GB, TB, or PB basis), will impact pricing, as will how long the data is stored and how often backups are taken. Storage conditions that are applied to the data can also affect the price, is it encrypted, immutable or are there multiple copies for example.
